since this is a global forum, I'd say the likelihood of identifying someone AT that camp who WOULD like to tell stories and WOULD like to share them with YOU is about zilch. Good Morning, Everyone!

they do, but the instructional vids available on the Knotty Boys site are better and more entertaining. Can't imagine my old scoutmaster watching those, though. :P

But the questions is What would your scoutmaster think if you told him that you learned some really cool new knots, and when he asks where, you said "by watching the Knotty Boys videos"

Ummmm... My roomate and I taught a double coin knot to a bunch of cub scouts at the meeting on monday.... and that where we learned it... No questioned where it came from, but I'm fairly sure we're going to hell.

Going to hell? I'll save you a nice spot by the window. lol. Now I have to look up a double coin knot.

wow, I shoulda looked there sooner! The double coin knot is the on top, by the neck? It's a little hard to untie in that pic but I'll find a vid or link to it. I like the rope corset idea but we're having a little timeout from rope play for a while so I might not get to practice for some time.

The knot is on 84342... Along w/ the original version of that harness.Once you are able to play with it.... Have fun!

I guess.. Mixing a weekend w/ your kid at scout camp and kink in any form squicks me a little bit. IMO, things have a time and place, and that just ain't it.

at camp can be completely oblivious to what teh adults are doing. If he exercized caution, it could be pulled off so I wouldn't categoriy condemn him for wanting to do that in his off hours. But I'd definitely recommend being VERY careful.

scout parents are adults, too They don't cease to have other interests just because they show up at a scout camp. Usually, they're too busy and tired to indulge in discussions like that, but if he could manage to keep it away from the I wouldn't have a problem with it. That's a big IF, but I won't condemn him. Telling people what they "should" do is a very slippery slope. It's MUCH better IMO to advise people on potential RESULTS and HAZARDS and remind them to behave responsibily, than to try to simply say "don't do it".

I think that's a fair point and I won't pretend to understand the challenges of parenthood. Someday, hopefully :) Having worked with quite a bit, I think they catch on to a lot more than we sometimes think they do. Sometimes parents think they're being subtle, but the often don't miss a beat.

it IS a challenge and yes, they do pick up on a lot of things. And as they get older, they understand more of the jokes and innuendo, too! It takes a LOT of restraint sometimes to NOT tell the joke or make the comment that pops into my head. Mine are teens so they 'get' a lot. I have a lot of fun watching them watch shows like Family Guy and South Park to see which references they get and which ones they don't.could take the viewpoint that I'm being a bad parent for allowing them to watch those shows, but at least I KNOW where they're at with those topics and am available for further discussion when they come up.

One could argue that as teens, your are more mature then the writers of South Park and Family Guy. I don't own a tv anymore but I use to enjoy the off beat, nothing is sacred, humor of Family guy. Lois telling Peter, "your safe word is banana" always makes me laugh.
