was it really that bad a sentence? Here: STIs = sexually transmitted infections. The poster seemed to be implying that the only way to get an STI was by (presumably) sharing a needle - as nushka cleverly pointed out, by definition then, it's no longer an STI, because it's missing the "sexually" part. For the rest of the sentence: the rate of STIs in the U.S. quite high. Using the original logic that only heroin users are likely to transmit STIs (as opposed to pot users) then, to account for the high rate of STIs, there must be a lot of heroin users. Clearer? (hint, I was being sarcastic in the post you thought was unclear).
