If you're looking for valifation from strangers on the net to continue your "maybe too close" relationship with your family member, you have a problem. And your statement is extrememly open. You will get a broad spectrum of opinions, which in the end, are just opinions from strangers. If it bothers you so much that you're too close, then fix it. If you want to get more close, fix it.
