Worst for me is paperwork. Gack. Like for taxes and stuff. And it took me a year to get around to finding something that would work (sort of) for health insurance. But it's so much more profitable for me that it's worth it even so. And I found a good accountant.

I finally went with a high-deductible plan and an HSA. But then we almost never go to the doctor. This way, we're covered for emergencies, but so far have not come close to spending the yearly limit allowed for the HSA, so that all rolls over from year to year. If we don't get hit by a truck before I'm x, it becomes a regular IRA. Strangely, it's cheaper per year than when I *did* have health insurance through an employer, but still had to pay premiums and deductibles and co-pays...
